Group chat can clutter up the left side of your screen with too many messages. There are two ways to prevent group chat from becoming a nuisance. 1. Detach the chat window: Click on the small box to the left of the ‘X’ - the mouse tip will identify this as a ‘tear off’ You now have group chat contained in a separate window. This will prevent further messages from displaying on your screen. You may minimize the new window, move it, resize it, or close it. 2. Reduce the display of chat messages on your screen Go to Edit, Preferences, and click on the Text Chat tab. Change the Chat Console settings to reduce the amount of time a chat message displays on the screen, and the number of lines displayed. In the example shown below, a chat message on screen will display for 20 seconds, and only 2 lines will display.
